Band Feature: Conditions

Words by Paige Kochanski

When a band breaks up, sometimes it’s sad, but sometimes it’s for the better. The split of Motion Picture Demise, Race The Sun and Scarlett was, in this case, a blessing in disguise. As soon as each band’s lives ran it’s course, five members, Brandon Roundtree, Ryan Tinsley, Corey Thomas, Alex Howard and Jason Marshall joined together to create Conditions in 2007. Soon after forming, the band immediately gained a following and caught the ear of Kevin Lyman, playing Warped Tour the same year. Fast forward six years, and the band has two full lengths, 2010’s “Florescent Youth” and the latest, 2013’s “Full Of War”. So what is it about the Richmond group? Being in heavier bands in the past come through in some songs, adding layers to their game, and depth compared to similar rock bands. “We won’t stop/ we won’t stop building” sums up the motto and the band’s passion and drive to be something different in today’s scene and make listeners think and process the music, not just get by playing it safe. The band has already toured with legendary bands, New Found Glory, Paramore, letlive and Sleeping With Sirens. Next, they’ll be adding You Me At Six to that list when they tour the U.S. together this fall. Check out the dates below and see when the band will be hitting your city!
