If you’re in need of a new obsession, we’ve got you covered this week! Twin Forks is an Americana, folk group that will send you to another place, no matter what kind of day you’re having. Similar to The Hunts and Misterwives, Twin Forks combine strings, clapping, and vocals to create a unique effect in music. This group of musicians is all about aesthetics, as you’ll be able to tell when listening to their music that positive images come to mind.
Made up of experienced talent, Twin Forks was started by Chris Carrabba, who you might have heard in Dashboard Confessional. Carrabba recruited Ben Homola, Jonathan Clark, Shawn Zorn, Kelsie Baronoski, and Kimmy Baronoski in his attempt to make a different kind of music than what he’s known for. The group’s harmony is apparent as they are able to create music with a similar theme that doesn’t all sound the same.
One of their most popular songs, “Can’t Be Broken” is a great example of the positivity their music inspires. In life, we all go through things that we simply cannot get through alone. “Can’t Be Broken” describes the love that cannot be broken between the important people in our lives. The love like this, can help bring us up through the hard times. These people are the ones we use as support and the ones we support too.
Though formed in 2011, the band released their first, self-titled EP, in 2013. Now, the band has their first full length album out, also named after themselves. Pick it up on Itunes!
