For the Love of Tattooing: Autumn

Recently my mom was injured and became a quadriplegic. She was on a ventilator and feeding machine. She almost didn’t make it and now has severe medical issues. Too many to even delve into details about. I immediately put school off, packed everything I could fit in my car and drove from Arizona to Missouri to spend time with her. As a method of coping with the situation, I got a tribute tattoo for her. She named me Autumn because my hair is the color of the Autumn leaves. So I got a sleeve of maple leaves up my arm. They also cover up self harm scars. I’ve had two five hour sessions and I have about one or two more to go. It’s equivalent to a therapy session for me. My tattoo artist is incredibly talented and him and I just talk the whole time about what I’m going through.
